The Care Caravan Citizen Barrier-Free Travel Service Plan
Time:2019-01-09
I. Project Overview:
In China, the number of people with disabilities caused by illness, accidents, and natural disasters continues to increase annually. Due to inadequate barrier-free infrastructure, people with disabilities face significant mobility challenges, making it difficult for them to integrate into mainstream society and share in social development achievements. The Shenzhen Disabled Friends Barrier-Free Transportation Service Center addresses the mobility needs of elderly, weak, sick, and disabled individuals with limited mobility in communities by adapting international best practices from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The ongoing "Care Caravan" Citizen Barrier-Free Transportation Service Program provides year-round free, convenient, safe, and comfortable transportation services for mobility-impaired groups including the elderly, weak, sick, and disabled in Shenzhen, ensuring their right to free mobility. Guided by the principles of "Compassionate Assistance" and "Convenient Mobility," the Disabled Friends Barrier-Free Transportation Service is committed to providing efficient, safe, and comfortable transportation services, ultimately achieving the social goal of barrier-free mobility and further promoting the integration of people with disabilities into society. To truly implement the service philosophy of "Equitable Services for Vulnerable Groups," the Shenzhen Disabled Friends Barrier-Free Service Center collaborates with social work organizations and community service centers to deliver comprehensive accessibility services. The project provides barrier-free transportation for people with disabilities and other mobility-impaired individuals, while ensuring scheduled, safe round-trip services between designated locations. This initiative addresses the social marginalization caused by mobility challenges and fosters an inclusive transportation environment to promote social integration.
