Recently, the Rare Disease Care Club of Guangzhou Bayside International School once again practiced the spirit of charity and public welfare with their actions. This group of caring students successfully raised 5,072.09 RMB through the well-organized charity sales, sending care and warmth to the patients with rare diseases and the disadvantaged groups of the handicapped.  The charity sale is another good deed after last April, aiming to provide rehabilitation and employment and other related support to the disadvantaged groups with disabilities, such as patients with rare diseases, through the efforts of the students. The money raised has been fully donated to the Canyou Charity Platform to help more people in need.

 On the afternoon of June 11, 2024, a grand donation ceremony was held at the headquarters of Canyou, as a way to recognize the selfless dedication and deep love of the students of the Rare Disease Club of Guangzhou Bayside International School. This event not only showed the humanitarian spirit of the young generation, but also injected positive energy into the society. At the donation ceremony, Mr. Zheng Weining, the founder of Canyou Charity Platform, delivered a passionate speech. He first expressed his deep gratitude to the students of Guangzhou Bayside International School, saying that their good deed is the best expression of humanitarian care for the disadvantaged.   Mr. Zheng Weining mentioned that the students of BESI Guangzhou have spontaneously set up the Rare Disease Club, which not only reflects their concern and sympathy for patients with rare diseases, but also demonstrates their active commitment to social responsibility. These students have made a positive contribution to society with their practical actions.   What's more, it is worth mentioning that all the donations made by the students came from their own labor income, and although the amount of this donation is limited, the meaning and value of encouragement and support behind it is invaluable. The instructor of the club, Mr. Guo Fang, said that this visit was more touching than the first one, and that he had a deeper understanding and feelings about the achievements of the Canyou Charity Platform and its founder, Mr. Zheng Weining.   Ms. Guo firstly recalled the shocking feelings she had during her first visit, and mentioned that under Mr. Zheng Weining's leadership, Handicapped Friends has always been at the forefront of the development of the times. Whether it is the computer and software related industries in the early 21st century or the rise of the bio-industry, Canyou has demonstrated forward-looking vision and excellent practical ability. This kind of keen grasp of the pulse of the times and active commitment to social responsibility makes Mr. Guo deeply admired.   Ms. Guo said that the visit trip gave her and the children of the club a deeper sense of the opportunities and challenges they face as members of a thriving society. She encouraged the children to face the challenges bravely, grasp the opportunities positively, and contribute to the society with their own wisdom and strength.  

When talking about the children of the club, Ms. Guo said with deep emotion that these children have the purest heart and the broadest love, and hope that after they go out into the community, they still maintain this innocence and goodness, and look at the community with love and care for others. This is also the value of the club's existence.

The president of the club, Mr. Fu Yu Ran, made a final speech as a student representative. First of all, on behalf of all the members of the club, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Canyou Charity Platform and its founder, Mr. Zheng Weining, for the opportunity and platform they gave to the club so that the club could have the chance to do its best for the patients with rare diseases and the disadvantaged groups of the handicapped. The club is grateful to them for the opportunity and platform that allows the club to do its part for rare disease patients and disadvantaged groups with disabilities.  . Yuran Fu modestly said in his speech that what they have done is only an insignificant part of the work, compared to Mr. Zheng Weining and the Canyou Charity Platform's long-term in-depth support and help to the rare disease and disability disadvantaged groups, they are deeply convinced that their own contribution is still far from enough. However, it is this humble and self-reflective attitude that highlights their sincerity and determination.   Student Fu Yu Ran also gave special thanks to the school leadership and Ms. Guo Fang for their care and support. They have provided the club with valuable resources and platforms, enabling the club to continue to develop and grow, and bring care and help to more people. At the same time, he also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the active participation and selfless dedication of students, it is the joint efforts of students, so that this donation activity can be a complete success.   In the end of his speech, Mr. Fu called on more people to pay attention to rare diseases and patients with rare diseases, and to provide them with more help and support. He hoped that through this event, we can arouse more people's attention and care, and work together to create a better future for people with rare diseases and disadvantaged groups with disabilities.

 At the solemn donation ceremony, the club's teachers and students were presented with a banner, a certificate of donation, and a plaque of honor to symbolize their gratitude. The glittering words on the banner, "BSS is as good as water, rare disease has love to follow", are not only the best interpretation of the continuous public welfare actions and love and dedication of BSS and its Rare Disease Club, but also the highest praise for this group of caring students. They interpreted the philosophy of "goodness is like water" with practical actions, and sent love and hope to the disadvantaged groups with disabilities, such as patients with rare diseases, with their love and actions.  The donation ceremony came to a successful end, we sincerely wish the teachers of the Rare Disease Care Club of Guangzhou Bayside International School a successful work and a bright future; the students a successful study and a bright future. At the same time, we also look forward to more schools, teachers and students to join the ranks of the public welfare cause, and jointly contribute to the construction of a harmonious society.
