In 2011, the "Guo Meimei" and other events triggered a storm of accountability in the public charity industry, and the entire public charity industry faced a huge social questioning and a crisis of trust, and many public charity organizations faced a huge challenge to their credibility. The core of this accountability storm is the transparency and information disclosure of public charity organizations, which also prompted us to reflect deeply on the issue of transparency and information disclosure.

What is urgent now is how public welfare organizations can be more proactive and effective in disclosing information. One innovative way is for public welfare organizations to take the initiative to open their doors to the public and sincerely invite the public to enter the organization for zero-distance contact and face-to-face communication and exchange. The organization can directly disclose to the public the information of the organization, answer the public's questions, and at the same time get the public's feedback. This kind of benign communication can really promote the cooperation and mutual trust between public welfare organizations and the public.

In view of this, the Foundation Center Network initiated and cooperated with foundations to organize the Foundation Transparency Open Day, inviting the public, media, and peer organizations to visit foundations, to have close contact and understanding of foundations and public welfare, and to have face-to-face communication.

The first Foundation Transparency Open Day was hosted by the Foundation Center Network and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), in which CFPA gave a comprehensive introduction to institutional reform, project operation and financial management. The event received a good social response, and CCTV reporter Liu Xiaoyue commented that it was "an ice-breaking action for the foundation's openness and transparency". The second Open Day for Foundation Transparency will be co-hosted by Foundation Center Network and Zheng Weining Charity Foundation.

Shenzhen Zheng Weining Charitable Foundation is a different kind of public welfare organization, with a unique founding background and creative operational concepts, which is connected to the social enterprise created by Zheng Weining, the Canyou Group.
