2015 Dyslexia Service Linkage Workshop Coming Soon

I. Introduction

In order to better promote the development of dyslexia services, a number of social service organizations in the Mainland, together with a number of dyslexia service organizations in Hong Kong, and with the support of government departments around the world, will hold the "Focus on Literacy - The First Dyslexia Services Linkage Seminar 2015" on March 21st at the Commercial Press Building, Futian District, Shenzhen. The seminar will be held on March 21, 2015 at the Commercial Press Building in Futian District, Shenzhen. A number of experts and scholars from Mainland China and Hong Kong will be invited to give lectures together with the organizations, and Ms. Gao Min, the "Queen of Diving", will also be invited to the scene to support the event.

Introduction of Experts
Xiangping Liu: Doctor of Education, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of School of Psychology, Beijing Normal University. He is the director of the Psychological Counseling and Clinical Research Institute of the School of Psychology of Beijing Normal University, the vice president of the National Learning Disabilities Research Association, the executive director of the Beijing Municipal Health Care Association, and a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Psychological Association. His main research areas are children's dyslexia and attention deficit disorder, and he founded the first school specializing in diagnosing and correcting children's learning disabilities. He has presided over a number of national and Ministry of Education projects on learning disabilities and attention disorders, published more than 100 academic papers on dyslexia in core journals at home and abroad, and published a number of monographs. Dr. Lai is an Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Social Sciences at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is the head of Manulife Centre for Children's Learning Potential Development, the head of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Peking University Center for Child Development and Learning, a Chartered Psychologist in the UK, and a Registered Psychologist in Hong Kong. She received her master's degree from the University of Michigan, USA, and her PhD from the University of Hong Kong. He has been engaged in psychological research on early childhood and special needs children for more than 10 years, published more than 100 relevant papers and books. He has been engaged in psychological research on special learning disabilities, children and adolescents for 24 years, and has been awarded the Overall Achievement Award by the President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Excellence in Knowledge Transfer Award, the International and Hong Kong Excellence in Services for Special Learning Disabilities Award, and so on. He has been appointed by the Hong Kong Education and Manpower Bureau to train all English and Chinese teachers in Hong Kong on the topic of "Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs" in the area of Cognitive and Learning Needs, and is a renowned expert in Hong Kong in the area of Specific Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia).


Dr. Yang Wenhan: Doctor of Psychology, Public Health Physician, Lecturer and Clinical Specialist at the Department of Maternal and Child Health, School of Public Health, Sun Yat-sen University/Center for Child and Adolescent Development and Behavioral Studies. He is also the secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee of Child and Adolescent Health, the director of Guangdong Provincial Family Education Research Association, a guest researcher of Developmental Clinical Center of Hakuba Woman's University and Psychological Diagnosis and Treatment Department of National Center for Adult Health Care in Japan in 2008-2009, and a visiting scholar of Johns Hopkins University in the United States in August 2013, and he has published many papers in domestic and international academic journals. Shu Man: Doctor of Management, Professor and Master's Supervisor, Department of Information Management, College of Economics and Management, South China Normal University. He is an academic member of the Librarians Sub-Committee of the China Library Association and the founder of the public welfare "Little Bee" library. He has presided over and participated in many national and provincial research projects and published more than 40 papers and several monographs. She has published more than 40 papers and several monographs. She is currently working on the 2013 National Social Science Foundation General Program: Theoretical Methods and Countermeasures Research on Public Library Services for People with Reading Disabilities. Ms. Wu Wanxian: She is a doctoral student in social work at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a key member of the first batch of "Hong Kong Social Workers Mainland Supervision Program" in Guangdong Province. She has been engaged in social work for more than 10 years and has obtained the Hong Kong Certificate of Education in Special Education. She has rich experience in dyslexia counseling and training, and has published a number of papers on dyslexia. Currently, she is mainly responsible for the dyslexia service, youth service and community service of social work organizations in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Zhongshan.
