Time:2014-02-21

February 18, 2014, Shenzhen Zheng Weining Charity Foundation Secretary General Liu Navy led the Kite Plan outstanding interns to Hong Kong for public welfare learning, the public welfare learning aims to understand the operation mechanism of Hong Kong's social organizations, especially in the field of social enterprises and fund-raising management, social (social work) services and other areas of mature experience and qualities.

The public interest study visited two famous organizations in Hong Kong, namely the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities.

The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), abbreviated as the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), is a non-government organization representing social welfare services in Hong Kong. It was established in 1947 with the aim of systematically co-ordinating and planning a wide range of social welfare services, and is committed to promoting the development of social welfare in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Rehabilitation Alliance, formerly known as the Hong Kong Federation of the Disabled, was reorganized on February 23, 1992. The objective is to focus on uniting more people with disabilities to fight for equal welfare, equal opportunities and full participation in social affairs. Only through uniting people with different types of disabilities can we have a stronger and unified voice. The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities (HKJCPD) not only focuses on general rehabilitation services, but also participates in general social affairs policies that directly or indirectly affect people with disabilities. The majority of the members of the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities (HKJCPD) are persons with disabilities, including the physically disabled, visually impaired, mentally handicapped, ex-mentally ill and chronically ill.

After the visit, all the public welfare interns have expressed that they have benefited a lot. On behalf of the Shenzhen Zheng Weining Charity Foundation, we would like to thank the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities for their hospitality, and Ms. Li Yiran for her support of the Starfish Initiative.
