Theme Salon: How Social Enterprises in Bangladesh Innovate to Solve Social Problems
Time:2013-09-20
Elwin, who works for a well-known social enterprise in China, went to Bangladesh in June this year to have an in-depth visit to the local social enterprises and social issues, met Nobel Peace Prize laureate Yunus, chatted with lenders at the famous microfinance bank Grameen Bank to chat with lenders, and attended the best international social enterprise forum. Although it was only 10 days, it made Elwin have a new view on life and society. After returning from Bangladesh, he initiated the Social Enterprise Innovation (SEI) social enterprise innovation program, hoping to help more people to understand social enterprise, so as to devote themselves to social enterprise, and solve more social problems. The program is designed to help more people understand social enterprises, so that they can join in social enterprises and solve more social problems.
What kind of place is Bangladesh in the end, and what social problems are it facing? And what kind of "magical" role do social enterprises play in the region?
